  1. Once upon a time there was a man in the townland of Leitrim North who got a pot of gold. Another man asked him what would he do to get some, and he told him to get a goat neither with horns nor without horns to get on his back, and to ride to where he would be neither in this townland nor in the next when it would be neither day nor night. "Arra how could I do that" said the other man. "Musha g'over to Ballyglass and get "Ould Johny Mor's one-horned goat, go riding on his back, go up to my rivereen go along the side of it at about seven O'clock make the goat gallop and wherever he'll stop of a sudden there's gold me boy".
The other man got the goat, went up to the river bank at the right time but no sooner had the goat started galloping when he bolted and threw his jockey "head neck and heels" into the river and when he got out he never went gold hunting afterwards.
