    Long ago a dispute took place between the Eastern and Western branches of the O'Haras - the O'Hara's Buidhe and the O'Hara's Ríabhach. The O'Haras Buidhe demanded tribute fromthe O'Haras Riabhach. The O'Haras Riabhach sent back word that they would not send it till the O'Hara's Buidhe would come for it. They came for it, and the two forces met and fought at Mullinabreena and this is how the place got it's name:-
