  1. Long ago in the time of the Milesians it was believed that fairies were very powerful and everyone was in terror of them. It was supposed if you fired a stone in the air at night and if you hit a fairy she would come in the window at night and cut your neck off. There is a hill in Carraig Wood called "Thuighe Buidhe" and under this hill are two thousand horsemen who were put in and kept there by a magic spell. These men always have one of their feet in one of the stirrups. When the war will come to Eire they will mount their horses and go into the field of battle.
