Rathurlisk fort was the meeting place of the kings, cheifs and brehons of Tireragh.
A giant's grave 21ft by 10ft is in the northern end of Grangebeg.
The stream flowing between Kilrusheighter and Rathglass is called Abha an Bhuaidh where in ancient times the men of Tireragh defeated the men of Ulster in a great battle.
There are round mounds like burial places in the seashore in Rathglass, Kilrusheighter and Aughris.
