  1. The main road from Sligo is Ballina to called "Bothar Ard.
    The road from Dromore West to Ballina by Bonniconlon is called the "Fly Road". It is calles (as) because the Mail coach travelled on that road long ago. "Hanley's road" is a road leading from the main road at Mrs Giblins public house, about a quarter of a mile north-west of Dromore West. Co. Sligo to the cross roads west of Seafield school.
    Long ago all the land round Dromore West was in bog, there were no roads, except one along the sea. The track of it still remains, it is to be seen in Hugh Coleary land at Hempfield and the lane at John Dows and Patrick Colearys
