    A Great Weaver
The ruins of an old house are to be seen on the left hand side of the Dromore West - Easkey road and are owned by John Devaney Dromore West. In this house about 100 years ago lived an old pensioner a Protestant. His name was John McGann. John was a great weaver he could copy any pattern that would be suggested. He used to weave shirts, towels, pillow-cases, pillow-cases, tableclothes and quilts. At first he would spin and weave them from the wool. He then sent the quilts to Ballina to get them dyed.
