  1. In Townatruffaun, Gleneaskey, Parish of Kilmacshalgan, Tireragh, Co. Sligo, and on the lands of John Devaney there is a Cromlech in a good state of preservation. No one living can give an account of how it happens to be there.
    The table stone is six feet from the ground and measures eleven-and-a-half feet by nine feet. Its thickness varies from 1 foot 9 inches to 2 feet and 9 inches. It forms part of a crude stone fence. It is locally called the "Griddle Stone.
