My townland is Dunbeakin in the parish of KilmacShalgan and in the barony of Tereragh. There are thirty one families in the townland of Dunbeakin and there are one hundred and thirty four people in it. There are three slated houses and three galvanised ones and the rest are thatched. Dunbeakin got its name from the fort of Bacon are sixteen people alive over seventy years of age. They do not know Irish or tell Irish stories but tell English stories. The names and addresses of the people over seventy are as follows:-
