    "On Swithin's Day", 15th July if there be rain for forty days it shall remain. If the wind blows from the north on Hallowe'en night 1st November there will be a mild winter.   2. Travelling folk call still at my home and have been doing so for many years. Some are very poor and more are rich. Some of them sell cans, buckets, porringers and other things. They buy the stuff from the shop-keepers and make the utensils themselves. People buy their things, as they sell them cheap. These travellers are not always welcome as they always want charity. They remain for a fornight and then go to some other district. They do not
