    I wandered by a cottage door...

    I wandered by a cottage door
    And the parrot said "Come in
    The door was open and I came in
    And saw sitting there a maiden with a dimpled shin,
    And combing down her hair,
    A sweet surprise came in her eyes
    And yet she did not frown
    And as I smiled on that dear child
    And the parrot said "Sit down,"
    I sat down on that cottage chair
    And the parrot said "Kiss her"
    And as the maiden didn't speak
    "Be Jove," said I, "I will"
    The blush that mounted to her cheek
    Made her more lovely still
    And soon in haste I grasped her waist,
    She cries out "No No"
    As she looked so nice, I kissed her twice
    And the parrot said "Bravo"
    Her father then came rushing in
    And the parrot said "Sneak out"
    Her father's voice was like a rasp
    And swearing he began
