    Now he bet with the publican if he sent for the King’s coach he would get it. The publican thinking this surely impossible asked that the wager should be doubled. This was done & this time the bear was sent on the errand to the palace. It was not long till the King’s coach drew up outside the publican’s door - Billy had his wager again & he & his stock got into the coach & drove to the palace.
    Here they were met by the Princess who presented Billy to her father & told him the whole story of how he had saved her from the dragon & not the butler. The King on hearing the story ordered that the butler should be burned in a barrel of tar & offered the princess to Billy in marriage. Next day Billy & the princess were married & great were the celebration in the town. Billy & the princess lived happily for a year & then Billy said to the King they should have a hunt some day. The king was delighted & preparations were made for a hunt on the following day. Early on the following morning the hunt began
