    to visit the house & be entertained by his mistress. One day about noon when he knew that the young man was in the house he told his master that they had been signalled to for dinner. The farmer said "It is best to go in & have dinner." They loosed the horses & went in. The farmer sat down in the kitchen while the boy moved around & in doing so managed to stand on the cat's tail. The cat 'me-owed' & the farmer asked what did he say. The boy said "He spoke in Irish & said there was a fine young man in the parlour." After a little he managed to stand on the cat's tail again. The farmer asked again what he said & the boy answered "He spoke in Irish & said there was a fine dinner ready in the parlour." "Better go & eat it" said the farmer.
    The farmer & boy went to the parlour & sure enough there was the fine dinner laid out for two - but there was no young man. The young man had been there but got out the window while they were in the kitchen. They sat down & ate the dinner & then returned to
