    as he came on shore from every ship. As each man came along he, her father, would say "Stand." She told him he was not to halt when he said "Stand" for the first or second time but when he said "Stand still, my man", he was then to stand without moving hand or foot. When the day for sailing came he said Goodbye to her & went to his ship - After an uneventful voyage the ship arrived at the port. He came on shore wearing the waistcoat - He was passing along not heeding anybody when he was ordered to stand. He took no heed - He was again ordered to stand but did not heed the command the second time. Now he heard the order "Stand still, my man" and immediately he stood facing the man who addressed him. The harbour master eyed the man and asked him where he got the waistcoat he was wearing. He told him his wife had made it for him. "Well," said the
