  1. The mysterious springing up of a well
    Father Gosprone, once Parish Priest of Templeboy, now suspended, lived in a small room in a house owned by Mrs. Gilmore, Templeboy. He said Mass each morning in his room. Each morning Mrs Gilmore went for some fresh water for the Mass to a well in a field close by owned by a family called McGolderick. The McGolderick’s objected to Mrs. Gilmore trespassing on their land. One morning one of the McGolderick’s chased Mrs. Gilmore to the door of her house and used some violent language. The priest, haring the abuse given to Mrs. Gilmore asked her when she came in what was the cause of the trouble. She told him and he said, “God is good. God will provide.” That day Mr. Gilmore were making a large cock of hay in their garden. A young boy who was forking the hay off a cart on to the man who was building the cock shouted excitedly, “Look where the water is bursting up”
