  1. In the year 1903 there dwelt in Castleconnor a Catholic man named Atkinson. Now and again, as it suited he turned Protestant. During his time there were no ropes or scollops to keep the thatch on the house.
    On Michaelmas day. 1903 a great storm arose. At midnight the roof was carried of Atkinson's house and as it was dangerous to remain in or near his house because the flying sticks and fragments might kill him he took shelter along a fence. He prayed and said if he lived until the morning he would turn Catholic again. In the morning when he saw that every Catholic house was
