  1. There lived in Dromore a great swimmer called Charlie Morton an uncle to the present George Morton. He could swim from "Poll-a-Ran" to Carraig Pádraig". He would rest there on the water with his arms folded and his feet crossed for a few minutes and swim to "Pull na Duibhe", without ever leaving a foot on land. This is a distance of 1 1/2 miles each way.
