  1. Ned Hynes of Dooneal dreamed three nights in succession that he would get a crock of gold under an ash tree in his garden on condition some animal was attacked and killed by another animal when Ned went to get the gold.
    One morning Ned got up early and he got his spade and went off to dig up the tree. He brought his dog with him. Ned began to dig and when he had dug about a foot deep of earth away a big eel came out of the hole. The eel attacked the dog and killed him.
    Ned dug away another foot of clay and he found a crock sure enough. He took it up and
