Long ago people used not have the same food as we do to day.
For breakfast and dinner they used potatoes and at night before they would go to bed they would have yellow meal gruel or stirabout. Sometimes they would grate potatoes and mix with flour. This they called stampy. The only time they drank tea was at Christmas.
