There is a very old forge in Ardfert owned by the great OCallahans. They were an old Irish family who built this forge in Ardfert about eighty years ago. It is a very large forge and a good many smiths work there. In this forge there are two bellows and two anvils.
There are two smiths there now one named Bertie Callahan and the other Joe Hanafin. They make horse shoes of iron on the anvil.
