  1. Banna is the name of our district. It is in the parish of Ardfert. there are about three hundred people living in it.
    In former years people doubled that amount but during black 47 - 48 a lot of them went to America and Australia. The McCarthy name is most common. There are a lot of old ruins in the district such as Barrow castle and Ardfert Abbey.

  2. Ballymcquin is the name of our district. It is situated in the parish of Ardfert. The families in our district number seventeen. The McCarthys are the best known families in our district.
    In former years the houses were only thatched but now they are slated. There are only a few old people living there. Long ago the houses were not so numerous but nowadays
