In Ballyheigue mountain at the Shannon side there is an inlet of the Shannon called Ballyingarry leap. It is a chasm eighteen feet wide and about three hundred feet deep. A wager was offered to any one that could leap it across but no one would venture it but a man by the name of Delany commonly called Shaker. Some people also say it was another time leaped by a tailor. Delany was a native of Ballyheigue
