The south-west wind brings most rain to our district.
- When the starlings come inland and perch on tops of the houses it is the sign of frost. When the seagulls come inland it is the sign of storm at sea. Swallows flying low is the sign of rain. When the sky is red to the East when the sun is raising it is the sign of rain in the evening. When the sound of the wave is heard to the North East it is the sign of good weather though it may be cold. When it is heard to the South it is the sign of rain.When the fog comes down the mountains it is the sign of rain and when it goes up the mountains it is the sign of fine weather.(continues on next page)
