  1. I
The home of my childhood no more shall I see
Or visit again the sweet vale of Tralee
Where in youth I have strayed with the friends who were true
In my own Isle Green Erin for you
    II
Often dreams to Killarney I go
And visit sweet Muckross and famed Aghadoe
We list to the thrush an d the linnet's sweet lay
And green Innisfallen that's now far away
    III
We'll sound the loud horn in the gap of Dunloe
And see oe'r the clear lake the wild stag and doe
We'll glide oe'r the waters of Tralee's lovely bay
For the freedom of Erin that's now far away
    IIII
Through Banna's wild strand my vision took flight
And viewing at a distance St. Brendan's steep height
The oldest cathedral to ruin and decay
And the tears flow for Erin that's now far away
    V
To Ardfert sacred mountains my fond heart is dear
For oft in my youth I have shed a sad tear
Oe'r the tombs that's invallen my forefather's clay
For the freedom of E|rin that's now far away
