  1. On Saint Stephens day boys go round from every district with the wren. Some of them dress very nicely and some of them wear masks and head-dresses. They march nicely into the house and some one in the crowd is able to sing or dance. Long ago there used be a captain in the crowd and he used have all his gang numbered and he used call them according to their numbers to dance or sing as the case may be.
    They had little verses made up about the wren such as.
