    The Leipreachan is a small fairy man supposed to live in the woods or raths away from houses inhabeted by people.

    The Leipreachan is a small fairy man supposed to live in the woods or raths away from houses inhabeted by people. People say he is dressed in a green jacket and red cap and when shown in a picture or book he is seated on a mushroom which shows he is not very tall. It is said that he has a crock of gold hidden and if anybody was lucky enough to catch him he would become rich.
    A story is told of how a lazy shoemender at one time caught one and held him tight ordering him to tell him to dig deep into the earth. The man did so and after a while he came across a queer box which he opened instantly but it
