  1. There once lived a giant who had his abode in the southern side of Connor's Hill in ballinclogher. He lived in a large cave worked in between rocks of stone. At the entrance to this cave a large stone about ten feet long served as door or protection. It is said of him that at night he would travel the country near him and he would take from the people their sheep and cattle to his cave. All the people were afraid to go out by night. So at last ten men volunteered to lay siege to the caves. On the morning of the attack a great storm arose which caused this giant to awake from his sleep.
