A good swimmer is also to be found in the neighbourhood. His name is Jim Brosnan of Liscullane. Some years ago his horse went into a deep flood. He came and swam around in the flood for a good while. He managed to cut the chains off the car which was attached to the horse and thus brought the car to land. The horse was drowned and only for he being such an athletic man he would probably have shared the same fate.- Collector
