    crosses or monuments in it. One of these old tombs belongs to the Keane family and the date on this tomb is 1869. Another old tomb belongs to George Hewson of Ennismore and the date on this tomb is 1850. A large tomb inside the gate belongs to the Byrnes of Ballyrehan and the date on this tomb is 1845. There are no wooden or iron crosses in this churchyard.
    There is one disused churchyard in this parish. It is situated in William Quilter's field in the townland of Gortinare. In this field may be seen the ruins of an abbey and in the ruins is an old tomb and around the abbey are the marks of several graves.
    About three years ago two men named Keane were knocking down a ditch in this field and they unearthed human remains.
    An old man named Maurice Shanahan remembers having seen burials taking place at this churchyard about
