Once upon a time there lived in the parish of Athea a poor man and a boy.

Once upon a time there lived in the parish of Athea a poor man and a boy. One night when they were gone to bed they heard all the people dancing and singing in the kitchen. The man got up and stood near the kitchen door and he saw all the small men dancing, and and after a while the man went away to bed. He got up again to redden his pipe, and someone told him to go to bed. Then the next day the man sent for the priest to read mass in the house, and from that day out there was never a fairy seen in the house.
