Long ago there was a man going to Listowel very early one morning and he saw a big black dog on the side of the road. Then the dog began crying and the man stayed. Listening to him for an hour. After that the dog stopped crying and the man went away. About four nights after the man was coming home from a walk and he saw the dog again. The dog spoke to him, an he said " I have killed your wife because she is a bad woman all her life". Then the man went home and when he entered the house he found his wife dead.
