  1. The Leipreachan or Mermaid

The Leipreachan has two other names.

her hair. I never heard of one brought ashore because you would get drowned before you'd catch them. There is not any family in any way connected with the Mermaid.
The Leipreachan has two other names. The Lorgadan is one and the little red man the other. It is very seldom the Leipreachan is seen and he is hardly a foot high and he is dressed all in red and brown boots and they are very pointy. He lives under ground and his usual occupation is making boots and storing up gold. My Uncle caught him once and asked him to give up his gold but he said look at the big dog behind you and he looked back and turned around again but he was gone. They do not harm anyone but they are friendly beings. Sometimes they help human beings by telling them where his box of gold was and he said if they got it they would be rich. They have never taken revenge on anyone.
