  1. Kilcolgan is a small townland in the Parish of Tarbert. It consists of two parts Upper and Lower. It got its name from a saint whose name was Colgan that lived there in olden times. He built a church there and beside it was supposed to be a graveyard. There is not a trace of the church or grave-yard to be seen for several years.
