  1. There are two fairy forts in the lands of Mr. Patrick Diggins about three quarters of a mile from the village of Ballylongford. One is on the left side of the road and the other on the right side. They are about fifty yards in from the pub road.
    These forts were built by the Danes as places of defence when they were fighting with the bows and arrows. The forts are circular in shape and in one of them there is a ditch of stone and clay around it,
