    eighteen and a half inches. The material is a copper alloy and was gilt. The decoration is Anglo-Hibernian in style.
    We can only surmise how the Cross was removed from Lislaughtin to Ballymackessy. It might have been that the monks hid it for safety, intending to come back to the Abbey again, or that the soldiers have taken it for loot, and lost it when going through the country.
    It was purchased for the National Museum in Dublin in the year 1890, and it is still to be seen there.
