  1. A Local Happening
    John Kavanagh, who lived in Ahanagran, about two miles from Ballylongford, was, one day minding cattle which were grazing in a field near by. There was a fort in the lands, owned by Richard Mackessy of Ahanagran.
    John Kavanagh looked towards the fort, and all of a sudden he saw a beautiful image glittering in the bushes. He kept looking at it for a long time, but the moment he took he eyes off it, it dissapeared, and when he looked again there was nothing to be seen.
    This happened on a May Eve, about twenty five
