    Local roads
The Listowel Ballybunion road is the principal in this district, and Liselton cross which half way on that road, there are three public roads meeting, one leading to Ballyduff, one to Ballylongford, one Beale.
That part of the road which leads from Liselton to Ballybunion is made close on seventy years. In those days about a shilling a day was the hire they got working on the roads. Now they six shillings a day. No principal roads were made in the Famine period but by-roads. Very few old paths now owing to so many except a few leading to the Catholic churches.
