  1. The Gaba Beag was a blacksmith by trade. his name was Nolan, He was a good Irishman who had his country's cause at heart. His principal object was to do away with the landlords at that time. One day he left his own house and took two guns with him and went into our fort Cremins at the chapel road. After waiting for some time the Landlord and his valet came along each on a horse back. The Landlords name was Raymond. The Gaba Beag seeing his opportunity fired at him blowing some of the buttons off his coat, that gun he laid
