  1. Some years ago a priest was called late at night to anoint an old woman, who as dying. When he came to a certain part of the road, his mare turned around and no matter what he would do he could not bring her around again. He drove to the presbytery and called another priest to go with him. He took his horse with him as a horse is supposed to pass ghosts but a mare will not. They said they would go now in spite of any evil spirit. They went without trouble this time and the priest administered the last sacraments to the woman and she died a very happy death before the priest left the house.
