  1. The name of my townland is Leansechane, in the parish of Kilconly, in the barony of IrraghtiConnor, Co, Kerry.
It contains five families and there are about thirty people living in it. Mulvihill is the most common surname. There are more slated houses in my townland than thatched. The word Leansechane means the swampy land, some of the land is wet and mushy.
The houses are more numerous in my townland than in former times. A great number of people emigrated to America and there is scarcely any house in the district that hasn't a friend in America.
