  1. About forty years ago a very remarkable thing happened in Lahardane. The people dreamt there was gold hidden under a tree in Hennessy's Fort. A crowd of them gathered and went at midnight to the fort. They were digging for about a half an hour and then they heard noises and clods were thrown at them. They ran home. It was afterwards found out that it was the Commons people made noises and threw the clods.
