  1. It is said that Kilstosheen is an enchanted city on the river Shannon. It is said that this city is seen once in the seven years. [?] heard that a poor man was going from this place to Ballybunion and up at Doon the people saw him looking out at the Shannon and pointing at it and saying "O look at them, look at them!" It is thought that he saw the city but the people who were with him saw nothing. It is said that this man was never seen around this locality ever after. It is said that any person who will see the city will never see it again.
