I want the vessel or the coin. - It is a fitting thing to keep before the people the memory of our local poets. Most of our local poets were never rewarded for their talent. And many a pleasant evening was spent listening to their God-given gifts. As most of the local poets seem to cling to the memory of our old people, there is one you seldom hear mentioned. She lived in the Gurteen bottoms ; her name was Mary Murphy. She came from the west of Ireland. She talked Irish fluently, English not too well ; she never learned to write the English language. So all her poems and sayings were in Irish, that is why she is not more(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
