Naturally they became somewhat nervous and decided to conceal themselves as best they could, because they never dreamt that the throng was of the spirit world. However as the crowd approached them it turned quickly to the left, by an old path that led across the fields and was in use for generations before. The horse, an old and staid animal, also became restless and started to canter around the field in which he was grazing. Suddenly the commotion died down and the crowd faded away.
The men became undecided as to whether they would take away the stone or not. Some of them were for leaving it where it was but Gifillian senr, being somewhat of a stoic decided for them and insisted that they would take it away. The horse was yoked to the cart and the stone placed in position. They noticed that the horse was perspiring freely and trembling all over.
