    1/ A game called "Sewing the Old Coach" used to be played at wakes.
    An old coat was placed on the middle of the floor and a ring of boys sat around it and sang these words - while pretending to sew.
    "Go to Mass Monday
    Stay at home Sunday
    Curse your father + Mother
    And throw stones at the beggar"

    2/ Another game "Shuffle the Crog" played at wakes. -
    All sit in ring round on the floor. One stands in centre, and one of those in ring hits him with a rope saying - One yard and one
    Two yards strong
    A bit a scrap + a shuffle
    The person standing in centre tries to get the rope which is passed round under the feet of those sitting. The person he succeeded in getting it from must Then stand in centre + game starts again.
