    Burns: Polly Poidin (as specimen) and unsalted as butter boiled together and applied to burned hand.

    Cane oil made by boiling a cane (plucked but not cleaned) in bule water. The oil deposit left is used for burns, also for greasing a gun.

    House leek- Juice squeezed on stye on the eye said to cure it. (J. O'Rourke) Drumcoula. Boiling spit, made by wetting turf ash with spittle (before any food is taken) cures stye, also cures wildfire.
