  1. This great Irish saint of ours was born on Inch Island. On the morning of his birth a number of cattle walked backways to the Island from Drumreilly.
On the morning of his birth a man appeared to his father and asked him did anything happen there last night. Of course he said no except a baby boy that was born.
This strange man then asked was it baptized. The father said it wasn't. He then told him to send it out and that he would baptize it. The father said he had no way to convey it out. "Have you no way at all", he asked. "Well, not a way except a stone flag", the father answered. He told him to send it out on this flag that it would do.
He did as this strange man wished. He placed the child on the flag and it came floating out.
The man having baptized the child placed it again on the flag and he put his foot to the stone and gave it a push and it went floating in on the island again.
There is a graveyard in on this island and this flag was used for carring in the coffins to be buried there.
A lot of people used to go there to be buried there but nowadays they don't go as much as they used.
