  1. When the hard- working men came in from work it was a great deal long ago to get a naggin of flummery.
    They steeped oat-meal in a tub and covered the oat-meal with clean water. They left it in this state until the water was of a white thick colour. Then they strained the water into a pot and put it on the fire to boil. When it was very thick they took it off and put it into a big wooden bowl to set. They eat this with cream.
