  1. Once upon a time an old woman was churning. When she was churning for a while, a little man all dressed in white appeared to her and said, ''Let me churn a while.'' She did not let him churn. The old woman started to churn again. When she had finished, she found that she could get no butter off the milk.
    She told her neighbour about what happened to her. The neighbours told her to churn again and see what would happen. The old woman churned again, but could not get any butter off the milk.
    Some time afterwards she was churning, and the little man came again. This time she let him
