    About fifty years ago there lived, near Mohill, a man named Patrick Maguire.

    About fifty years ago there lived, near Mohill, a man named Patrick Maguire. He was married and he had seven children. He and his neighbours could get no butter when they churned. They suspected a woman in the neighbourhood of taking their butter.
    One day Maguire had four men digging potatoes. He told them that he lost his butter and the woman he suspected of taking it. One of the men told him that if he could manage to get some milk from the woman, and put a spoonful of it into the churn before he churned that he would get the butter back. One of the men also told him that if he took the milk
