    I donned my cáubeen once again,
    Bid good-bye to my corps
    'Twas Christmastide and off I hied
    To visit Ballinamore.
    Going down the street I chanced to meet
    A veteran true and tried
    That hero of a hundred fights
    At Lahard does reside.

    And next McGovern so bland
    Who hails from Swanlinbar
    He'll stand a treat or give a seat
    Upon his jaunting car.

    The new Land Purchase Bill.
